Kashmir vs. Switzerland: Bhagyashree’s Shocking Comparison Sparks Debate!

Bhagyashree’s Kashmir Reverie: Beyond the Mini-Switzerland Label

Actress Bhagyashree, known for her iconic role in “Maine Pyar Kiya,” isn’t just captivated by Kashmir’s beauty; she’s a fervent advocate for exploring India’s own paradise before venturing overseas. In a recent visit to Anantnag district, she expressed her deep connection to the Valley, challenging the common comparison of Kashmir to Switzerland.

“Whenever I come here,” Bhagyashree shared with PTI, “I’m reminded of Amir Khusro’s famous verse: ‘If there is Paradise on Earth, it is here, it is here, it is here.’ Don’t miss visiting Kashmir in your lifetime. It’s so tranquil and beautiful, I don’t understand why people go to Switzerland or Europe. When such breathtaking beauty exists in our own country, why venture elsewhere?”

Her words go beyond mere admiration. Bhagyashree flips the script, declaring, “People say Kashmir is a mini-Switzerland, but I say Switzerland is a mini-Kashmir.” This bold statement reflects a profound appreciation for Kashmir’s unique charm. It’s not just about scenic similarities; it’s about the soul of the place.

“You feel inner peace here,” she elaborates. “People are so good that you’ll never face a problem.” This warmth and hospitality are often cited as distinguishing traits of Kashmir, setting it apart from any tourist destination.

Bhagyashree doesn’t stop there. She delves into the heart of Kashmiri culture, praising the local cuisine. “The food is very tasty and the people are sweet like jaggery,” she says with a smile. These sensory details paint a vivid picture of the region’s rich culinary traditions and the genuine kindness of its people.

Bhagyashree’s experience transcends a typical tourism anecdote. It becomes a passionate plea for rediscovering the hidden gems within India. Her journey to Kashmir isn’t just a vacation; it’s a testament to the power of local beauty, cultural richness, and human connection that lies waiting to be embraced.
